Llay United Youth FC Football Festival 2010

 

Thank you very much for entering the Llay United Football festival, we aim to make the day a fun event for all of the players which is why we have made it a festival rather than a tournament with all of the children being presented with a medal at the end. Each team will also receive a trophy for them to present to their player of the festival.

 

The day will be spilt into two sessions with the under 6/7’s playing in the morning and the under 8’s playing in the afternoon.

 

The teams will be split into groups with each group allocated a pitch on which to play their matches, so there will be no need to keep moving from pitch to pitch. All teams in the group will then play each other with each team playing 4 or 5 matches.

 

The matches will be refereed by players from our under 13/14 squads who have either just finished or started their referees course.

 

 

Match Rules

 

    • Age groups are as of the 2009/10 season and are as follows    
      Under 6’s – School year 1
      Under 7’s – School year 2
      Under 8’s – School year 3
    • All matches are 5-a side with a maximum of 7 players per squad
    • At under 6 level there is no goalkeepers as we will be using the PUG goals
    • At under 7/8’s there will be a goalkeeper with the matches player in 8x4 goals
    • As per FAW rules the pitches will be 30 x 20 with goal areas at 5 meters
    • All matches will be played with a size 3 football
    • All matches are 7 minutes one way
    • Law 15 applies and throw ins should be taken in the normal manner, due to the age of the children the referees will be instructed to show flexibility
    • Law 12 applies to free kicks although they are all INDIRECT with opposition players being required to be a minimum of 5 yards away. Note there are no penalties.
    • At under 7/8 level Goalkeepers can handle the ball anywhere inside of their area.
    • Goal kicks are taken anywhere inside of the area with the goalkeepers being allowed to kick the ball out of their hands. At     under 7’s any player can act as the goalkeeper to restart play.
    • Players can pass the ball to their goalkeeper who is permitted to pick up the ball
    • Only coaches and players are allowed inside the roped area, with no coaching being allowed from behind the goal
    • Most of all enjoy the day

    10:00 – Under 6 and 7 Matches begin

    12:20 – Under 6 and 7 Matches finish

     

    12:30 – Presentation of under 6 and 7 team medals and trophy at registration tent

     

    13:30 – Under 8 Team arrive and register

     

    14:00 - Under 8 Matches begin

    16:20 – Under 8 Matches finish

     

    16:30 – Presentation of under 8 Team medals and trophy at registration tent

     

     

    Directions

     

    The festival will be held at Llay Miners Welfare post code LL12 0TH

     

    From Wrexham take the B5425 continue along the road through the village until you come to a roundabout the welfare is the large white building on your Left.

     

    From Cefn-y-bedd take the B5102 continue along the road as you approach the village with the industrial estate on the Left the welfare is the large white building situated just before the roundabout on the Right

     

    From Rossett take the B5102 continue along the road through the traffic lights by the Crown Inn, when you come to the roundabout the welfare is the large white building in front of you to your Left.

     

    Parking

     

    There is parking for about 100 cars on the Welfare grounds with additional On Street parking on the industrial estate situated opposite the welfare
