Excellent game of football  half time losing 2 nil  just could not finish at all had so many chances ,  in 2nd half was like a cup final , the heavens opened everyone was dripping wet but wow they turned it on  Two wonderful goals matty worrall 1 excellent strike luke bagnall

7th June - Garden Village Tournament

 

Despite loosing their first game 2-1 to Marchweil A (Adam Williams), Llay won there other four group matches - Park Youth 2-0 (Ryan Fisher Luck Bagnall), GardenVillage 3-1 (Luck Bagnall Adam Williams Luke Edwards), Marford and Gresford 3-1 (Ryan Fisher 3), Brickfield 2-0 (Ben Williams Ryan Fisher). To win their place in the semi-final against Marchweil B which they won 7-0 (Ryan Fisher 3 Luke Bagnell 2 Ben Williams 1) to book their place in the final against Machweil A.The final was a close game finishing 2-2 (Matty Worrell Rayn Fisher) after extra time, after 5 penalties each the teams could still not be split with each team scoring 3 of their 5 penalties, it went to sudden death with Llay (Luke Edwards) scoring theirs and Marchweil missing, to seal a second cup victory of the season.
 

 

22nd May - Penycae - Cup Final

After a close first half which finished 1 - 1 with Penycae scoring with their only chance, the second half was all one way traffic, with Llay coming out 7-1 winners with goals coming from Ryan Fisher 3, Liam Fisher 2, Luke Bagnall 2.

To top an excellent night Ryan Fisher who has come close to beating the Llay United all time goal scoring record of 74 held by one Robbie Savage, was voted the charisma Trophies man of the Match

 

14th May - Rhosddu -  Cup Semi Final

 

Rhosddu 1 - Llay 9

 

After a close first half in which Rhosddu took the lead against the run of play with a 35 yard free kick, Llay came back strong to lead 2-1 at half time. The second half was a different story with Rhosddu pushing forward looking for the equaliser, Llay continually broke through the defence to end the match 9-1 winners.
