Vs Brymbo
Alans team won 6 vs 0
Brymbo put up a good show for the 1st half until Llays passing improved and even then the visitors kept fighting for a goal but it wasnt to be. Vinyl opened the scoring with a well taken finish. Reuben scored 2 on his return after an injury and it was great to have him back with the team as he gives everyone a lift with his infectious winning mentality. Harrys dribbling stood out as did Daniels tackling and assured passing. Daniel and Harry went on to score 1 each before Osian opened his account for the morning.
Alans team won 13 vs 0
A young Brymbo team were no match for rampant Llay in the 2nd game. Vinyl scored the goals best game after good work by Osian who chipped the keeper leaving Vinyl with a sidefoot finish. Reuben and Harry cased lots of problems with their dribbling and Reuben went on to score 5 whilst Harry got 2. Osian got 3 of his own as he set up chance after chance on the right wing. Lewis Edwards also must be mentioned for listening and his passing, if he keeps listening and not be afraid to pass his game will improve no end. Lewis indeed went on to score a cracker with his mam watching too!
Well done to all the lads for playing in the right spirit and being respectful to the opposition despite being easy winners. The respect costs nothing and will gain you respect as you get older. Special mention to Daniel Cabral who plays the game with a smile on his face every game, who listens and gets on with his job.

MOM Harvey for his non stop running
Big thanks to 11 year old Cameron who agreed to take a whistle and reffed superbly, we really appreciate your help. Also thanks to Phil Cabral who helped ref the other game (appreciated too) and also to Hugo Mac who stood in as manager in place of Martin to boast an unbeaten record as manager.

Alans team
1st game won 4 vs 0
Tough game vs a determined Coedpoeth team who tested our under 8s. Georgia as usual was breaking up the play allowing Wes and in the 2nd half Osian to dictate play. Louis Mac was unlucky to not get on the score sheet as Vinyl showed some skills (drag backs and flicks) that Messi wouldve been pleased with. Osian weighed in with 2 whilst Georgia and Wes both got 1 as Llay's passing got them a deserved victory.
2nd game won 14 vs 0
Louis Mac found his shooting boots or he put them on the right way around as he notched 5 in a comfortable win that flattered the hosts. In this game Wes and Osian stole the show linking up well with their dribbling and passing skills. In fact the whole teams attitude was superb as ideas being put forward in training begin to pay off. Osian netted 4, Wes got 3, Georgia got her 2nd of the morning before an unfortunate own goal sealed the win for the home team.

11th November 2012 - Kinnerton (Away)
won 2 vs 1
a tough 1st game as Kinnerton made the better start and deservedly went 1 goal up. This woke the under 8s up as Louis Mac went close on a number of occasions before he finally equalised with a fine individual goal beating 2 players before cooly beating the keeper. Half time 1 vs 1. 2nd half saw Georgia putting in some tough tackles not giving Kinnerton time to settle, Osian began finding his passing range as Llay grew in confidence building from the back. Jacob in goal was forced into a couple of good saves as the game was going end to end. As Kinnerton pushed for a winner Osian found space to pick out Lewis Edwards who ran from his own half to score a well taken goal to win it for Llay.
won 7 vs 0
All the goals came in the 1st half of this game as Llay found their shooting boots, Harry scoring 2 brilliant individual goals before going on to complete his hat trick, Louis added to his 1st game goal and Osians efforts rewarded him with 2 goals. Daniel Cabral stepped into midfield and didnt give the Kinnerton players a moment to relax. Thanks to both Daniel and Lewis for volunteering to have a go in goal as we gave Jacob a run out in the 2nd game. Credit to Kinnerton for their 2nd half performance, they didnt give up and couldve scored a couple themselves.

28th October 2012 - Marford and Gresford (Home)
1st match won 5 vs 2
Myself and Martin decided to swap teams for this week so that the lads get to know us and vice versa on a match day. Attempting a higher tempo warm just before kick off, the idea was that we would start brightly as sometimes it takes us a while to get going. This was no exception as a lack lustre Llay were under pressure from the start. A long throw caused confusion in the Llay defence allowing M and G to poach 1 goal lead. James Rainbird put on a masterful show and we finally woke up. James went on to score a well deserved hat trick assisted by goals from Wes who did everything asked of him with no fuss all morning, a pleasure to manage. Harvey got the 5th before M & G pulled one back. Special mention to M &G's goalkeeper who pulled off some cracking brave saves, well done.
2nd match won 3 vs 1
A much closer game this one as we swapped the players and positions around. The idea of this is that they get to have a go in different positions to develop different skills. Harvey, Wes and James were a thorn in the opposition side especially when running with the ball. With a bit more communication and awareness of other players and space we couldve had a few more goals. Ted McDougal finished the game in defence (reluctantly) but played reall well when he had time to get on the ball and lift his head, spot a pass and try a dribble. Alfie Matthias chipped in with a 1st half goal, was tidy in defence and volunteered to finish off in goal. Wes and Harvey got well deserved goals as Llay continued their winning streak.

14th October 2012 – Rhostyllen (Away)
Game 1 won 4 v 1
1st half was 1 way traffic but Rhostyllens keeper was in fine form as he singlehandedly kept out wave after wave of Llay pressure going in at half time 0 vs 0. Louis Mac put in his best performance of the season getting back to form in the 2nd half scoring 1 and being unlucky on several occasions. Further goals from Georgia, Daniel and a rare Louis Peters strike saw Llay run out deserved winners.
Game 2 won 2 vs 0
A much tougher game this one against a rhostyllen side determined in the tackle and with some useful players. However Osian was causing no end of problems with his mature passing and dribbling skills and was a constant thorn in their side. He got his just reward with a well taken goal before Lewis Edwards got a 2nd before half time. 2nd half Rhostyllen just shaded it on chances but the my team dug in, defended well and always looked dangerous on the break.
MOM - Louis Mac for a return to form, lets hope he can keep it going
Rhostyllen Youth Fc 2 Llay United YFC 2
The game started as normal for Llay with boys starting slowly and were fortunate to go 1 goal up in the first half with James Rainbird scoring a well worked goal . The Second half Rhostyllen played the better football and were first to the ball , and stronger in the tackle . Rhos deservedly went two goals up , but the boys showed there normal competitive spirit and equalised a few seconds before the end of the Match Goal scorer Wes .
Rhostyllen Youth Fc 1 Llay United YFC 5 The boys had a wake up call from the first game and started strongly with Midfield controlling the game creating several chances , two goals were scored in the first half by Ted and Daniel . The second half again was played in the opposition half with all the boys now passing the ball as a team . Llay quickly went 5-0 up with goals from wes , James Rainbird and Alfie . Rhos never gave up and scored a late goal . Special mention to Harvey who played outstanding in defence and on numerous occasions had the fore-sight to retain the ball and pass to our players . Man Of the Match Harvey
